Boykin Announces Bill Waichulis As The New President
Cornelius, N.C.—Aug. 28, 2023—Boykin Management Company (BMC), a leading independent hotel management company providing hotel management and hospitality consulting services to a variety of hotel brands, including Marriott, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn, announced today the promotion of William (Bill) Waichulis from Senior Vice President of Operations of BMC to president. He assumes the top leadership position in Florida immediately.
Waichulis has more than 30 years of experience in the hotel management industry, including 14 years with Interstate Hotels and Resorts and for the past 17 years with BMC. He started his career with BMC as general manager of the Pink Shell, a beach resort and marina in Ft. Myers. He has spent his entire career in Florida, where he has managed a variety of hotels, including Westin, Hilton, Sheraton, and Holiday Inn. His most recent position was Director of Operations for South Seas and the Sanibel properties.
“I’m excited to take on this new role at this particularly challenging time as the southwestern part of Florida in and around Fort Myers is still rebuilding from the catastrophic damage inflicted by Hurricane Ian last September,” offered Waichulis. “Even though we have made great progress and have re-opened the Pink Shell, we still have projects to complete to bring the resort back to its former glory and full amenities,” he added.
Bill Waichulis will remain in his position as General Manager of the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina. He will report to the current Board of Directors for Boykin Management Company.
With more than three decades in the Florida tourism industry, Waichulis also sits on the board of directors for Visit Florida, the statewide tourism office, and serves on the Lee County Hotel Association and the Lee County Tourist and Development Council.
