Pink Shell Beach Resort donates to Sanibel Island’s Clinic

November 11, 2013 – The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina recently made a charitable contribution to Sanibel Island’s Clinic for the Rehabilitation for Wildlife (C.R.O.W.). The $1,750 check was presented on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Healing Winds Visitor Education Center.

The donation originated from Pink Shell’s recent “Save Our Wildlife” vacation package offering that collected $10 for each package sold. Originally, the effort was created back in 2010 in response to the Gulf Oil Spill. A Pink Shell employee suggested the resort offer a package that would benefit our local wildlife. Pink Shell’s management was quick to respond, and thus collaborated with C.R.O.W. to create the “Save Our Wildlife” package. In addition to spacious accommodations, this year’s package included a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom condo, breakfast for two each day, two welcome cocktails, 2 beach chairs per day, a logo Tote bag and two bottles of Fiji water in the room upon arrival. Pink Shell also reimbursed a one time, six-dollar Sanibel Causeway toll for guests to visit C.R.O.W.

Presenting the check on behalf of Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina was Ellis Etter, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Boykin Management. C.R.O.W.Executive Director, Stephen Calabro, and C.R.O.W. Vice President for the Board of Directors, Jan Egeland, gladly accepted the check at the clinic on Sanibel.

The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife provides care to our areas birds, mammals and reptiles that may have succumb to habitat loss, contaminated food and water sources, domestic pet attacks and collisions with boats and automobiles. C.R.O.W. relies 100% on charitable support so we at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina were once again fully behind developing an accommodation package that provided monies towards helping support the great job this organization does on a daily basis for our wildlife,” said Mr. Etter.
